Who was Turgut Alp?

 Who was Turgut Alp? Turgut Alp was one of the great and brave warriors of Ertuğrul Gazi which was father of Osman-I. Later on, he became a military commander of the Ottoman Empire after its establishment till his life. He was very close friend of Ertuğrul Gazi and key commander of his son Osman Gazi. He even served Orhan Gazi, son of Osman Gazi till his martyrdom. In the Ottoman's early conquests of Osman I, Turgut Alp was deputed to Angelacoma area (now a days called as İnegöl) which he conquered. This area which was consisted of few villages, was actually granted to him by Osman-I and this area was called Turgut-ili (Land of Turgut). He also accompanied with Orhan Gazi at the time of conquest of Bursa in 1326. Turgut Alp got the age of around 125 years. His tomb is located in city of İnegöl, Turkey.   Söğüt , The 1st capital of ottoman empire Söğüt city was the birthplace of Sultan Osman-I. It was conquered by Ertuğrul Ghazi for the Anatolian Seljuks from the Nicean Empire in 1231. Today Söğüt City is a small town in the river valley of Bilecik Province in Turkey. Turkish history of the great Ottoman sultans are exhibited also in the Söğüt Ethnographical Museum. Söğüt is also the third biggest district center in its province after Bozüyük and Bilecik.
